mcduling Posted July 22, 2014 Posted July 22, 2014 Hi, I have a WW1 tio named to CPL H.E.Russell D.S.C. Any idea what the DSC stands for? Surely not the naval decoration as this man belonged to the 11th Infantry and was not an officer.
IrishGunner Posted July 22, 2014 Posted July 22, 2014 According to the UK National Archives reference, "D.S.C." is the abbreviation for the South African "Divisional Signal Company"
Mervyn Mitton Posted July 23, 2014 Posted July 23, 2014 Good result - thankyou IG. This was posted on the wrong Forum - should have been on the one above. No 'train smash' - just helps to keep things in order. Mervyn
