they use that shape Hunan province 1920 ,1922 Tan Yankai ,commemorative medal and merit medal ?

from the words reserved "與子同袍、明恥教戰"，its medal may be a military merit medal，but the ribbon is not Chinese ，its Japanese the order of rising sun

Hi James , really appreciated your help , is the reverse saying something more then  merit medal? I have translation as "With the robe, shame to teach war" . or did you see one of those ?

与子同袍、明耻教战 from two Chinese ancient books more than Two Thousand years ago

与子同袍means:"We are  comrades and we will live or die together."

明耻教战means:"Teaching soldiers to fight, let them know that retreating is shame, so they can able to courageously forward, kill the enemy to get victory."
