Wehrmacht Long Service Awards

Hello Everybody,

I have a question about the Wehrmacht LS awards.

Were they ONLY awarded to those in a regular status?

What about the following situation;

a man with 4 years service in WW1 (or I guess later)  (or 3 years 14-18 and one year 1938/9) who is called up/volunteers (ie a non regular) in 1938/39... can he receive a 4 year medal as well?

Assuming of course he gets his paper work in before the outbreak of the war.

Thanks again for this information....I will have to translate it properly ..but already learnt some new stuff. I didn't know Freikorps  and Police service qualified

Thanks for this additional information it is very interesting. So it seems  active duty Wehrmacht service counts... not whether you are a regular or a called up or volunteer.  Thanks again
