AlexK Posted May 3, 2022 Posted May 3, 2022 Good evening, This is my first post in this forum. I recently inherited some items from a friend of the family in Hungary. He had been a fighter pilot in the Hungarian air force during the 60s and 70s. His last flight was in 1981. The collection covers a complete pilot helmet, jump suit, several daggers, wings, a medal, pins and a watch. As I'm very new to this, perhaps there are people who know more about the rarity of these items? Thanks in advance for your replies. Best Regards, Alex
AlexK Posted May 3, 2022 Author Posted May 3, 2022 Regarding the watch, I found info that it was used by the Hungarian Air Force. The serial number dates it to 1968. https://www.fratellowatches.com/certina-argonaut-vintage-chronograph/#gref
AlexK Posted May 4, 2022 Author Posted May 4, 2022 one of the daggers were given to him after serving in Poland. I guess that must be the one with the red/white emblem. The gold coloured one he must have received after his 50th birthday. That year he had his last flight (1981). I noticed in earlier posts that it is uncommon for Hungarian daggers to be inscripted with serial numbers or text. however, that must have been different in the 60s-70s. All 3 daggers have a serialnr or text inscription. Is there anyone who knows more about this? A closer look on the inscription of the 1981 dagger.
