British Bush Jacket

Good evening gentlemen,

 

I am new to this forum and was hoping to gain some knowledge on a few of my British/ commonwealth items that I've had a hard time identifying. The first one being this Bush jacket i acquired a number of years ago at an auction, if I'm not mistaken British uniforms can often be identified by buttons and/ or shoulder flashes if they are directly named something like "grenadier guards". This one has buttons for Indian Army unattached officers, so I think that would mean british officers in charge of Indian soldiers? And then has shoulder flashes that say burma on them and have lieutenants ranks, would this just make him a lieutenant of the Burma rifles? I would appreciate any help the forum members can offer.

Is it possible that there isn't enough distinct marks/ insignia to narrow this down to a specific unit? If so what would be a few of the possibilities?
