The Star of Devotion is a Djiboutian military order created by President Hassan Gouled Aptidon in March 1978 to reward non-officer military personnel who have served with honour, loyalty and fidelity the Republic of Djibouti; received one or more war wounds during war or security operations or who have been mentioned in the orders of the Republic.

 

The Star of Devotion is awarded annually by decree of the President of the Republic, who makes a sovereign decision on the basis of a list of candidates presented to him by the Minister of Defence after preparation by the Military Council. 

 

The Order is only composed of knights and officers, there are no commanders and only the President of the Republic holds the dignity of Grand Officer.

Here, I have the medal awarded to a French officer who was a "capitaine de gendarmerie".

He trained the "Garde Présidentielle" in the early 90s.
