Information on manufacture of medals

Hi, 

I'm new to collectiing medals and decorations. As a historian, I'm also interested in the manufacture process used in the XVIII and the XIX century.

The image below was taken from a S.XIX manufacturer's book and shows the different stamps and dies he used to make several Orders from Lippe. 

 

 

 

However, I have not been able to find books that explain the manufacture process, how enamels were prepared and adhered to the medal, carving and preparation of stamps, etc. 

I even contacted the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Ordenskunde to enquire if they had articles on the manufacture process, and was informed they have not cover this topic in their articles.

 

I have found some books/articles written in Spanish with general information on manufacture such as:

If you can suggest/provide artricles, information or books, whether written in German, English, French, Italian or Spanish I will greatelly appreciate your help. I believe this thread can become a good repository of information for anyone interested in phaleristics studies.
