Victoria Cross original, copy or replica?

Do these two images show an original VC and a copy moulded from that original?   If it has been moulded from the original, what are the tell tale signs of the copy?   Could the copy ever have been mistaken for a cast original or a replica by the curator of a military museum?     Thanking you in advance for your expertise.
Having looked closer at the images of the above VC, I can see that it is a copy. If you look at the inner border where it reaches the tail of the Lion, you will notice that the border does not continue to the rear body of the Lion. On an original - and some copies - the border continues down to touch the body of the Lion. Here is the very early tailors copy that I picked up on eBay.
