archie777 Posted May 16 Author Posted May 16 Megan & Marco, Please let me know if you need any other Homeland pictures Regards Archie
Megan Posted May 16 Posted May 16 Those are wonderful, thank you.... should keep me out of mischief for a while.
archie777 Posted May 16 Author Posted May 16 Hi Megan, You're welcome and let me know where I can help again Regards Archie
Megan Posted May 16 Posted May 16 You are very kind and generous... and I much prefer having images I know I may use rather than scavenging from sales sites and the like. Now many auction houses have given me the run of their catalogues, but a lot of South African medals don't make it as far as European (or American/Canadian) auction houses!
archie777 Posted May 16 Author Posted May 16 Hi Megan, On the Homelands I still need a lot, but have most of the others in my collection Regards Archie
archie777 Posted June 1 Author Posted June 1 Hi Megan, Here we have a possible sample, because I couldn't get any information on it, but its also a Venda Independence Medal Regards Archie
Megan Posted June 1 Posted June 1 Thank you, Archie. The first one has the same obverse as described & shown on Wikipedia, but they claim the reverse (which they don't have an image of) bears the arms of the Republic of Venda. Your second example has the arms of the Republic of Venda on the obverse, and the information/date of independence on the reverse. I just love medals!!!!
archie777 Posted June 2 Author Posted June 2 Morning Megan, My pleasure and I'm also glad to be of any help. According to the information I have, you are correct, but somewhere they changed it. I couldn't find any information on the second medal and yes, I love my medals as well. There is so many interesting information. Regards Archie
