A gold cross pattee, depicting a gold hare's bobtail within a red circlet (obverse) and the Venda coat of arms (reverse). Instituted with effect from 1 January 1985 in terms of a Warrant signed by President PR Mphephu on 19 December 1984. Government Notice No. 6 in the Republic of Venda Government Gazette, Vol. 13, No. 15 dated 8 February 1985. The enamel is like my silver cross Here is a complete set of all Venda Defence Force (VDF) Awards As a matter of interest, all these medals were issued during the existence of the VDF.
