In August 1990 it was decided that this medal would henceforth be awarded to members (of the South African Police) newly seconded to KwaNdebele, and also during the fifth anniversary celebration of the KwaNdebele Police, to members of that Service who had not received the Establishment Medal

Seems I have managed to get a bit confused between the Order for Distinguished Leadership and the Medal for Distinguished Service - and ended up with the ribbon for the latter described as the ribbon for the former on my website!

 

Now to sort it out!

 

Archie, the ribbon for the Order for Distinguished Leadership, is that gold with a medium blue edged dark blue central stripe?

The colours are from left to right, gold, blue, green, blue and gold.

 

Even the small piece that I have, looks confusing
