I have had this 1912 colonial medal for a while and would like to hear this forum’s opinions on it regarding originality. I know there are alot of really good fakes and copies of this medal which makes originals hard to identify. The medal is gilded, weighs 18.30 grams (weight includes the ring that the ribbon goes through) is around 32.5 mm wide and just under 36mm high. The thickness is around 2.5mm. I think the ribbon is a vintage uv negative replacement as it seems to be made of watered silk, all the ribbons I have seen pictures of on original colonial medals don’t seem to be wateredIMG_4205.thumb.jpeg.dbff838c32ddd0393b335f4a47a3b3ed.jpeg
