gjw Posted Friday at 23:08 Share Posted Friday at 23:08 Hey all, got a nice cased example of a 40th Anniversary Medal of the Revolution. Nice design IMO. Stay well my friends Greg
Megan Posted Saturday at 07:31 Share Posted Saturday at 07:31 A handsome beast, the Tanácsköztársasági Emlékérem - very dynamic image. A nice addition to your collection.
Philip.S Posted Saturday at 09:16 Share Posted Saturday at 09:16 Greg, A very nice example of a very nice medal! congratulations! The case puzzles me, however, as it seems to fit the medal perfectly, but it has the Kivalo Dolgozo style of mini holder at the bottom?🤔 Congratulations! gjw Posted Saturday at 11:25 Author Share Posted Saturday at 11:25 Thanks again Megan. Always with a kind word. Thanks! Philip, thanks also for your kind words. As to the case. I'm still a baby in woods when it comes to Combloc Medals. Just started to collect them. Want to learn from you old hands. Here's some additional pictures of it. Please enlighten me. Thanks again Greg
Philip.S Posted Saturday at 11:42 Share Posted Saturday at 11:42 Greg, I'm afraid i have no more information than you do, I am merely guessing, and spotting oddities!😅 What i have seen, is that medals with a ribbon bar usually have it mounted above the medal in the case, whilst the excellent worker medals usually have it mounted below, in a small groove to allow the pin of the mini to rest there. to see the two intertwined just confuses me! XD I have searched the internet, but to no avail, for a picture of the mini for this award. I have attached an image of two cases, one for a silver service to the country medal, and one "normal" excellent worker, to illustrate what i'm saying. Regards, Philip.S
steveBobby Posted Sunday at 00:49 Share Posted Sunday at 00:49 Hi Greg! Very good medal, I like it too. As for the small groove in the box, there is no doubt that the Hungarians prepared a miniature version for their medals. I'll include an image of the 50th anniversary medallion showing a similar mini. By the way,I added a certificate I scanned for this subject. Yours Steve Let's add photos of the celebration and winners of that time
Philip.S Posted Sunday at 09:48 Share Posted Sunday at 09:48 Steve, Many thanks, that clears my confusion! its nice to see the miniature of the medal as well. It is odd that i have never seen one? perhaps they are so small they often fall out?😅 Many thanks, Philip.S
