Wat05 Posted August 14, 2024 Posted August 14, 2024 (edited) I would like some advice from fellow collectors here. There are two of these medals on offer online, and I believe they are originals by Mos-Stamp. But I get mixed results/opinions. I heard that Mos-Stamp are the official and main suppliers of the Ministry of Defence Medals, and that these are an example of an official award. Some other places say this variant was never approved. I also believe some medals can be commercially purchased, which are in high quality. The fact that it is without a number worries me too. If it is indeed official originals that were merely not awarded, that will be good enough for me. Thanks for all opinions. NUMBER 1 NUMBER 2 Edited August 14, 2024 by Wat05 1
Wat05 Posted August 28, 2024 Author Posted August 28, 2024 (edited) Here is the document for the medal ‘NUMBER ONE’. Does anyone have the knowledge if these are original, official issues, awarded - or if they are fake, or a commercially purchased type? Edited August 28, 2024 by Wat05 Add photos 1
ChrisKelly Posted Saturday at 04:09 Posted Saturday at 04:09 Found this... It might help. Medal "For Distinction in Combat" Медаль «За Боевые Отличия» "The type 1 of the medal awarded from its creation to 2017 is at left. The type 2 award at right with new background and ribbon has been awarded since December 2017." Wat05 Posted Monday at 18:59 Author Posted Monday at 18:59 I do have some Russian Federation medals from the MoD, some do have this black line. These are the Participant in Syria, and two Distinction medals. I will post them here later on.
Megan Posted Tuesday at 09:19 Posted Tuesday at 09:19 Do you mean a SECOND black line, i.e., the orange half has a black line on each side? The original Medal "For Operations in Syria" is like this (apologies for small size, I pinched it off my website, as I'm on the laptop right now, not the desktop where the medal images live!): 1
Wat05 Posted Tuesday at 10:44 Author Posted Tuesday at 10:44 Yes, it would be the central black line. This is the one I retrieved: 1
Megan Posted yesterday at 09:15 Posted yesterday at 09:15 Oh dear, looks like a major update is needed in the Russian Federation section of my website... Thanks, Wat05, for the information 🤓 1
Wat05 Posted yesterday at 10:23 Author Posted yesterday at 10:23 (edited) You are welcome! I also plan to get a good camera, so I should be able to post better photos of the medals here quite soon. Edited yesterday at 10:24 by Wat05
