Lovely Imperial Japanese Canteen Cover - attributable?

This cover arrived amongst an amount of Japanese medals I just purchased.

 

i wondered if anyone would be able perhaps date it, or even translate the Kanji for me? I was hoping it could be the name of the past owner….

 

i need to find a canteen now!

I will indeed - however I have smashed my phone camera today so have to wait until I get it fixed or replaced!

 

My collection very new & basic but I am really enjoying collecting Japanese medals and badges
