Dear Gentlemen,

 

The insignia of the 701st Guided Artillery Group (701e Groupe d'Artillerie Guidée - 701e GAG), located in Colomb-Béchar, homologué G 1214 in 1956, Arthus-Bertrand Paris:

 

 

 

The 701st GAG was formed on 12 January 1955 at Colomb-Béchar in Algeria to meet the need for experimentation of missile-based weapon systems for artillery. The 701° GAG fulfilled this mission from 1955 to 1966, within the Joint Special Equipment Test Center (CIEES).

He left Colomb-Béchar to settle in July 1966 in Biscarrosse, within the Centre d'Essais des Landes (CEL).

He gave birth to the 17th Artillery Regiment on 1/7/1970.
