On December 1, 1958, the 3rd Colonial Parachute Regiment (3e Bataillon de Parachutistes Coloniaux - 3e B.P.C.) changed its name to become the 3rd Marine Infantry Parachute Regiment (3e Régiment de Parachutistes d'Infanterie de Marine - 3e R.P.I.Ma.), stationed in Carcassonne since 1962.

 

The insignia of the 3rd Marine Infantry Parachute Regiment (3e RPIMa) homologué G 445, the homologuation dates from 15 June 1957, that of the insignia of the 3rd RPC, Y Delsart 89011 Sens:
