Unknown Japanese insignia. Help please?

Hello Everyone, I ended up getting this patch a while ago for $12.00, and I could not find it in any of my books. Would anyone happen to know, what it is?

I don't have a lot of knowledge on the topic but I do a lot of shopping and I've never seen these leaves on any Japanese badges. Are you sure it is Japanese?

I will be watching your post to see what the Japanese collectors have to say, and learn something for myself as well.

I know next to nothing about patches but since it has both Army and Navy symbols, I would guess it is a veteran association patch of some sort. Not even sure if it is Japanese, as Brian stated.

I have looked through my Japanese reference books and cannot find any mention of this insignia. I suspect it is a post war fantasy creation rather than a genuine badge.

I'd ask the seller how he/she knows, or why they believe that it is Japanese....

Thank you all for your help. I have some questions for the seller, after this. However, it could be something new to field as well? Insignia from some type group that may had been around for only a few months or something.
