Here are some items from the RTAVF during the Vietnam war. This unit was stationed at Bearcat in SVN. Thai forces spent approx 2 years in Vietnam. The Black Panthers were origninally part of the Royal Thai Expeditionary Division in early 1969. The division had their name changed to RTAVF which took place in approx 1970.

I remember working with the Black Panthers in '69-70. The RTAF also had some aircraft in country. I remember boarding one at Tan Son Nhut with some apprehension, only to see a USAF loadmaster stacking us in. For some reason, that gave me a little more confidence.

Thanks Hugh, great story. The Thai military did not stick around in Vietnam very long. Suprising being that they were so close and in theory had much too lose if the SVN fell.
