It pays to look outside the 'militaria' sections on eBay.

This was 'hidden' among the 'pre-1800 etchings' stuff.......a hand-coloured portrait of a Black Hussar from the time of Frederick the Great.

Curiously, look at the spelling of 'Todtenkopf'.

A nice little thing, for under 40 Euros.

He looks like Genghis Khan. Perhaps the Colonel in Chief? :P Just kidding. Nice print and interesting how the word evolved over the centuries.

Here's another, picked up on eBay today.

He's from 1918 though, and a bit 'less serious'!

Postcard is stamped for Danzig-Langfuhr!
