a never authorized device similar to the equally non-regulation miniature Iron Crosses often found, particularly in Saxon groups in the case of the non-regulation Iron Crosses.

Like the full-sized original, it is black painted.

No other German ribbon bar devices were ever painted except those related--in this case quite non-regulation-- to Oldenburg's Friedrich August Crosses.

These devices do NOT indicate possession of a pinback 1st class. They are simply a meaningless, unauthorized personal fashion statement.
