    On the ribbon of the Order of the Crown of Italy, this idnicates an Officer class.

    Originally worn by Vizeadmiral zS Joachim Lietzmann (1894-1959) pre-1943. After Italy changed sides, he had a blaack cover sewn over this ribbon on another ribbon bar-- see that scan: "Concealed: covered In Shame." :rolleyes:
