Broinze can only indicate a Military Merit Crosss 3rd Class. This is the most common style from the 1930s and 1940s.

But be aware that for fashion reasons, GILT devices are very often found on BMVK3 ribbons, just as plain improperly gilt swords are on Hindenburg Crosses.
