Sabers: Turkish WW1 Awards GODET Maker

This device SHOULD be under the rectangular "1332" date bar, but the illustrious firm of Godet in Berlin had their own ideas.

This is a Liakat Medal in Silver. Whenever you see these large pirate cutlasses without the date bar, you can tell before rolling the ribbon bar over to look at their trademark hinge and gray backing that this bar came from the Godet shop.

Identifications of this device and Godet's bizarre ?M3K wreath were made possible because they originally sewed smal;l metal "license plate" tags on the backs of each ribbon bar. Missing on many, they nevertheless allowedus to identify TWO devices made during WW1.
