Device Wreath Swords 02

This spectacular device by Godet has never been seen before! It combines a green enamelled wreath with gilt "S" hilts swords to represent the Knight 1st Class with Swords of the Saxon Albert Order. (The green and white ribbon has faded greatly.) This is a very logical device, since without the Knight 1st's wreath, there was no way to tell the two Knight classes apart--but it has never turned up before. This particular bar was worn by a later Generalleutnt, and is peculiar in having 3 "S" hilts devices when NONE of the Orders had such shaped swords in full size--a "fashion statement" also not previously encountered.
