One of my favourite designs although not Third Reich.

Yes definitely Feldherrnhalle on the Odeonsplatz, you can even see the mark on the wall where the plaque for the Putsch Martyrs was located.

Looks like a genuine Third Reich Era Ribbon Bar to me.

Awaloff Cross ?
You are going to have to enlighten me on this one, it looks like a cross between the Order of St John and the SS ?

I revisited Portsmouth including the Dockyard and HMS Victory a few weeks ago. This followed a wedding onboard HMS Warrior which was an awesome place to hold a wedding wub.gif
I have to say despite the rushed tour on Victory I was really impressed with the whole set up down there and the Royal Naval Museum was excellent, far superior to the Naval Museum At Greenwich which was pretty poor (mind you the Nelson area was being done up for a new exhibition, which would have made the trip worthwhile I am sure).
I have also been on USS Constitution, but I have to say for me HMS Victory beat it hands down
The odd thing I remember was the figureheads in the yard. What struck me was the one of Nelson, with BOTH eyes visible! That because Nelson only lost the sight in one eye, he did not lose his eye and contrary to popular myth he did not wear an eye patch.

Very emotive subject Gentlemen with much truth being said. However can I remind you that the club rules do stipulate no politics and I can see this post starting to slip into this category.
Thank you
Chairman

I think your original suggestion fits spot on.
District Police Constable Reserve.

No it should be worn directly on the uniform. It could be worn on the Defence Medal if awarded during WW2, but otherwise it should be worn directly on the uniform.

Not just a German thing mind.
British 17th/21st Lancers Badge. Now called the Queens Royal Lancers.

This all seems rather complicated, it must be a nightmare to administrate the issue of these medals !

I will see if I can get better copies of this to post.

Here are a few pictures from the Moscow Parade courtesy of the BBC. I see that a lot of soldiers on parade were in period uniform, where did all this come from ?

Cheers Rick
I really like the Minenwerfer Sturmdetachment Heuschkel badge. The design really matches the ethos of the Freikorps.

Did this ever come in a metal device or was it always embroidered on the ribbon bar ?
