Hi all,
I was down at the Deutscher Soldatenfriedhof at Cannock Chase yesterday and came across this grave.

Does anyone know what the "I.M." stands for?
Cheers

The Twins discussed this today and I have a boomerang to toss..... but it's a GOOD one. We think your case actually dates to the 1870 era based on construction and the catch...... not such a bad thing, eh?
Wow,fantastic news
...thanks for letting me know Rick(s)

Thanks Glenn! I think the hanging attachments are homemade, maybe by the guy that won the cross so he could display it at home??

Hi all,
I picked this up yesterday and it was extremely cheap
Cross is a WILM marked piece with a good length of non-combatant ribbon in a custom made case.Case has a glass lid for displaying the cross and has two attached brass rings on the back I presume for hanging the case on a wall?? Anyone seen hanging attachments like this before?
Cheers

I only have a couple of brass core EK1's both unmarked Wachtler & Lange's(like the one above),I've never been really into these types as to me they are not a true iron cross.....only my opinion of course

Now that's what I call salty! It's definitely seen some action and is worse for wear but I'm strangely drawn to it....if only it could talk eh
