Hello all,
The dotted date Zimmermann DKiG's we know have been discussed on other forums but I wouldn't mind seeing what the opinions are on this forum.
I do not own an example so cannot post pics of one but if anyone has a dotted date DKiG or a photo then please post it here.
So,for or against?...if you think they are original wartime examples then please say why,if you think they are postwar then also please give your reasons.
I think one of the big dealers has a dotted example for sale but I can't remember which one??...anybody know who is selling it?
Cheers
Dave

Very nice DK's Mike ,I also have a light Zimmermann that is quite tarnished(especially on the silver disc)
I wouldn't mind an example of each maker but my wallet won't let me

Cheers for the link Don I've seen that thread before but it's not exactly convincing one way or the other,it's very hard to fault the badge.

Hello all,
What about this one?...good or bad?
In Detlev's 2nd price guide on page 331 he shows an identical badge(top),same maker and positioning of marks etc.My example is numbered 9271
Any opinions will be appreciated.
Cheers

Tony was very amused by our beware of the cow signposts ,you would have thought he had never been to the country
I'll lend you a smock and a piece of straw(to chew ) next time mate!

yep, dave , they are tempting!
i'm partial to the K and Q in 1939
and like the Godet of 1914.
but really, aren't they ALL nice!
joe
For 1914 EK2's I like Wilm and LV

Yep,for me it's got to be W?chtler & Lange ...quality finish with lovely frosting! Ok they have a bit of "crunching" to the ribbed beading but I can live with that.
Anyone else like W&L?
What is your favourite EK manufacturer?....please post them here!
Cheers

Very nice Gordon!
Ok,I will ask the obvious question ....how come the 1914 cross has a PK marking when it really only could be a private purchase piece and not an issued cross?

Darrell I would say the cross is late rather than early mate, although it's better made than the rubbish they still churn out now for the collectors. The frames could either be for an EK1 or EK2,the small circle is the eyelet posistion indicator if the cross was to become an EK2.(this is what I have always believed)
Dave, why your EK2 has the ring affixed yet still has the circle mark is beyond me but more than likely is just sloppy workmanship.

Hello Ed,
Yes I have seen it,very nice! Although I can't make out any details on the EK,could you possibly post a closer photo/scan of the EK please?
Cheers

Hello all,
Anyone have any opinions on this 3/4 size 1813 EK2? It obviously wasn't made in 1813 but it still has a stepped core, anyone have a guess at it's time of manufacture?
Also I have been told that there are convincing repros of the 1813 Prinzen size EK2's floating about, how does this one look??
It measures 32mmx32mm
Any info would be greatly appreciated.
