Apart from in Gordons book I have never actually seen a "double edge"motif on an EK1 case before.Very nice though, wouldn't mind one of those for myself!
Nice K&Q as well
BTW does the insert come out?...is it marked at all?
Cheers

Closer look reveals a moon and crown.
Hmm,very unusual. Its definitely a standard KO made EK2 but I have never seen one with the silver marks(crown and moon) before or one with an 800 mark in that position.
Nice cross though!! :food-smiley-004:
Maybe Gordon has seen one before?

The left cross in Jans first post is the "classic" Floch with the "loose" bottom to the 3,I must say the other cross has a good obverse. They all have the characteristic short Floch pin to the reverse.
They all have a low date as well, although some originals also have low dates eg. W?chtler & Lange EK's(mm 100 and L/55)

Tony,I will try and get you a Floch.....I think you need to study one in the hand!

Hello all,
I have a question for you Luftwaffe experts! Lets say a pilot of a bomber earned the bomber clasp in gold but then transferred to night fighters.Would he carry on wearing his gold bomber clasp until he had the required number of nightfighter missions for a nightfighter bronze clasp or would his bomber clasp be exchanged straightaway for a gold nightfighter clasp?
Cheers

I was watching a programme the other week about WW2 tanks and a few old WW2 British tank crewman were talking about the Tiger. They were asked which tank was better, the Tiger or the Sherman. One of the old vets said "If a Tiger saw you first, then you were dead!......BUT if you saw a Tiger first......then you were still dead!!!"
All of the Brit crewman agreed they would have rather fought in a Tiger!

Dave B will know what they go for Darrell, he probably owns a good few.
Over here I think about 250 Euros but I'd be interested in hearing what they go for in Australia too.
Tony
It all depends on condition (doesn't it always!)...this little beauty cost me almost ?350 :speechless-smiley-004:

The maker if it can be seen, Eichhorn I think.
Tony
Yep its Eickhorn,I believe the back to back squirrel trademark was used pre and throughout WW1.
Really nice sword btw Tony wub.gif

SS Dagger
in Swords & Edged Weapons
Posted
Sorry to be get back on this so late, have you bought this dagger?
The grip is the wrong shape, the blade is too thin and overall it looks to be a badly made copy
Most SS daggers do NOT have the exclamation mark at the end of the motto although some do,these are considered scarce.
I would definitely not buy this piece!
I would be interested though to see better pics especially off the maker mark, motto and grip insignia....just to see how bad they are
