Hi!
One thing I like when searching for award certs is to find certs from other countries to Bulgarian people or Bulgarian
awards to foreigners
Here is a couple of such papers the first one probably the most common
a Soviet Victory over Germany to a Bulgarian soldier.

Hi !
Just want to show a award cert I bought a couple a years ago.
I love awards given to foreigners and the size of this one made me fall in love
Its big and it is a cert for Order of Alexander Nevski 4th Class with Swords to
an Russian LtCol named Kolodzey Aleksander Maximovitch (or something like it)
given 9th Sept 1947 wich was the last ocassion when this was awarded, after that the communist governement
closed the award down.
Now I just have to find a Order to get the doc complete ......
Maybe there is an Bank nearby?

Nope. Not Algerian, Tunisian. Never guess when jetlagged:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rachid_Sfar
He would have been Minister of Defence in 1981.
Wow !
I love seeing Bulgarian awards given to foreign countries !
They are far between and when you think of the numbers awarded they are rare-rare
Best regards from Sweden

Hi!
I have gotten me a nice 3rd class order of september the 9th with swords & document & box.
The document says on it 'order september 9th 1944, 3rd class with swords'.
The box says 'order september 9th 1944, 3rd class'. The box does not say 'with swords'. Is this how it should be or have i been given a 'set' with the wrong box?
I cannot keep them together if they are not matching!!!
Hi Bifter!
The boxes are the same for Awards with swords and without its only in the documents you can see the difference
Regards from Sweden

Hi again, some more stuff for the DDR collectors
This award cert for a Ernst Schneller medal in Bronce ( for the GST) was issued in 1973.
My question is , after studying it I am quite sure the signature o GenMaj Teller is for real.
Now would a GenMaj really sign this kind of docs in person ? Or was Klaus-Peter Braun some kind of
prominent person in DDR?
Or am I just wrong ( as usual) and the signature is printed after all ?

Hi all Bulgarian Collectors !
I just want to show my 1st verions of the Bulgarian Order of Labour
I am still missing the Bronce one, they are hard to come by.
First one in Gold with the old wooden box with brass catch
Then a Gold one with a simplier sort of case
Last one is a Silver grade with wood box.
I have information from Bulgaria that only about 50 of theese first issues where awarded? Anyone have any info about that?

Bayoswede,
Thanks for this interesting post. Waffenbruderschaft medals were produced primarily to be given to members of the Warsaw Pact or other communist countries. They were also awarded to the DDR military but mostly to senior officers. Award documents for Waffenbruderschaft medals awarded to DDR military personnel are extremely rare. I would think this document would be of interest on the Mongolian forum as well, and you might want to post it there as well. You are much more likely to get an answer on the Mongolian General there than you are here.
Regards,
Gordon
Thanks Gordon
I put a thread in the Mongolian section, and now I have another Urkund which probably is rarer then I knew before!
This Waffenbr?derschaft medal in Bronce, in issued to an Stabsfeldwebel Albrecht Knippel in 1987
the document is smaller then usual.
All the best from Sweden - And may your postboxes be filled with early VVOs ( old saying in Sweden )

Hi, this thread was placed in the DDR forum, but since it is an Mongolian General it have its place here to
GenMaj Sengiin Sombosuren (anyone knows anything about this General? I googled him but no matches, probable should have
searched in moholian spelling or Kyrillic ?)
He got the Waffenbr?derschaft medal in Silver in 1982, must have visited DDR or something like that?
It also interesting with medals from other countries to foreigners, have someone some more example of foreign awards to
Mongolian officers?
Have a nice summer everyone

Hi all, Don?t know if this thread should be here or in the Mongolian section?
But anyway here it is, a Waffenbr?derschaft medal in Silver to a GenMaj from Mongolia Sengiin Sombosuren
(anyone heard of him? ) . I have seen some of this medals documented and often they are given to Germans?
I thought this was more of an award given to other socialist countries?
Have a nice summer and hopefully a lot of new items!
