Hello Sir,
You're not alone to have been in trouble with chalabiani,he responded ounce extremely rough to a request. And as I replied him that his business ability should apply him for Nobel Prize Economy category "Pizza - Ice Cream" he then threatened me.....
Actually this person know absolutely nothing in Orders & Medals,as he ever "copy" the catalogue description from the auction catalogue in which he buy his medals. He's a total 0 with an agressive and arrogant behaviour.
By the way there is no fake of Oak Crown and the one he has on his web site is of course a real one.
Just recently one sided extremely poor made one's by Gode have surfaced in Germany as "collector set".You've certainly seen them on ebay Germany and even sometimes on ebay.com.
The most copied Luxembourg award is the Military Medal and also some recently made War Cross WWII.
Original War Cross WWII are of dark bronze & have very sharp details.
Emmanuel
I can sign & agree all the previous opinions regarding Najaf Coins.

Hello friend,
I have a very good pics of original and also the current fake including short summary of main differences. Obverse on fake is fairly good but reverse is immediate giveaway... though only few people know how original reverse even looks like. Send me email and I'll try to dig these from my hard drive chaos. I'll post it here as well later.

Hello,
This is a request to those in Europe who may see them first but are there any new (newish) Latvian badge reproductions coming on the market? Specifically the pre-1940 Latvian Naval aviation badge? I know current badges are being sold, and they are similar in design. Those I am not worried about. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers,

I forwarded an example to your finnmedals gmail account
Thanks Bob and my apologies for anybody who got unwanted messages.
Its repaired now. Service provider that created the email-list made some mistake with reply-to address...

Very impressive items, and a very impressive collection. What is this collecting filed like in terms of fakes ? Has it been targetted by fakers or is it still relatively "safe" ?
Not completely safe but safer than 90% of the areas. Tricky thing for beginners may be the current 2nd republic pieces that were adopted for many units directly from old design and even maker is most of the time the same. When I get some time I'll post current Pilot's badge in comparison with 1930's piece.

Just for information,
This year we have fall auction as well, that takes place in Finland, October 17th. We are currently making the catalog and there will be nice items from Finland, Estonia and of course CCCP. Catalog should be ready to be mailed near mid-Sept.

Thanks, I realized that - and If I understood it correctly there are differences on core and frames of Wagner's from different periods.
I am confused after I tried to figure these out yesterday. Is there original ones with both I. and J. letter?
Jani
And this one I did not find yesterday.. http://www.wehrmacht-awards.com/forums/showthread.php?t=358392&page=2
Nice article (translation from Journal of BDOS)

Dear Friends,
I trid to do my home work but I can not make decision for the originality of these.
Normal sized one is J.WAGNER & S, 14 LÖTH and Prinzen size (stepped core) is I.WAGNER&S and 900 punch mark.
I dont feel too good with these but I need someone to convince me.
I would appreciate any help,

>>>>Any mint marks on the Finnish medals on spange ?
That looks like Sporrong stamp - there are two makers, this one (Sporrong, Sweden) and LT, which is Tillander but back then name was "Lindman & Tillander". Both are blackened iron, though I have seen some odd bronze variations w/o marks.

Ciao,

Now you know why I wanted you to visit my shop on sunday
And answer to your question is yes - unfortunate for me since I would like to keep them all.

Thanks all for your input,
I have friend who does research and has the list of VR2 to Germans, though I dont know what kind of format it is - I mean he has put it together after years in archives and if its computer data base with all other lists included I doubt he will not give it. He has been very helpful any time I have needed some information anyway. I'll find out and if possibly Rick will definetly get the roll. Its actually something small worth to publish.
More about publishing - script and pics have been ready for my book since May. I have been waiting for edited draft to see how it goes. I talked with the publisher early this year and told them I will publish the book myself if its not ready by the end of this year - in that time they promised it would be printed out late fall. We'll see... I believe they really want to make it ready since they spent two months just for editing my 1000+ pictures and there are 300+ pre-orders.
If you mean by the group I had (sold 2007) but bought back last year, one with the EK2 with Luftkrieg bar - many thanks for information... or was it some other group I have posted? The one I mean was purchased directly from Germany.
Regards,
Jani
PS. I finally got real-Admiral Hugo Meurer's bar I have been chasing for years :)

Most of the medals you are looking for can be found in it, Alexandre. ISBN is 952-5026-20-5.
I personally think we were liberated and it was Liberation war, though if you translate the medal's name directly it is for capture of Helsinki - and precisely 20th anniversary of the capture of Helsinki.
Anyway - translations in Mattila's book were made by some English-grammar-enthusiastic with not reasonable knowledge of the context, so some english translations are quite long and difficult - I would say unpractical. However their meaning is mostly correct. Perhaps Finnish language is difficult and complex, but would there be shorter name for e.g. "Heimosotaristi" = "Cross for the veterans of the wars of kindred nations"?
I dont even know if there are "official" translations for the names old Finnish awards, yet translations in Mattila's book are made up when the book was published and hence unofficial.

Last two, both impossible to track. There would be a slight chance to find year mark on the Order of the White Rose and see the German recipients from that year... but it would require hours of time and plenty of luck.
Lower one has 1918 type Cross of Liberty and Liberation war medal typical combination for Baltic Division veterans.

4th bar,
This one is impossible to track, but actually WW2 bars with Finnish Crosses of Liberty type 1941 are very difficult to find.
Enjoy

2nd bar,
This is big one with Hohenzollern and Red Eagle, also Centennial medal tells, that when in Finland 1918 he has been in his 40's.
My biggest hopes regarding tracking the owner goes with this.

I have been collecting these for two years though not too actively. If there are some doubles those are my "trade"-pieces.
What cant see I need![;)](https://gmic.co.uk/uploads/default_wink.png)
If one needs any detailed information on any of the ones on picture let me know.
