Hi Jani,
Looking forward to the auction
Allow me some constructive critizism of your website:
- Clicking the 'Upcoming sale' link describes the coming 2009 auction but never mentions a date? (and there is no fields to fill out to download a catalog)
- Clicking 'Catalog' gives you the opportunity to fill in fields to have a catalog mailed to you (what if you just want to download the PDF?)
- Apparently if you just click the 'Send' button without filling out the - required - fields on the catalog page you can download the PDF file anyway. A bit confusing...
/Mike
Thanks,
I'll see our webmaster...
I'll try to make the .pdf smaller as well. It should fit to 10Mb's.

I saw same clasp on MEDALHOUSE March 17, 2007 Auction cataloge, on the item no. 211. - stunning medal bar with lots of Weimar period clasps on German awards ("Luftkampf" clasp on EK2!?!) + Finnish Order of Cross of Liberty. But exact same clasp was on Flanders cross!
Attached the picture of the group from our 2007 sale.

With prices dropping (e.g. the labour cavelier set on collectrussia, recent auctions, etc.) I might be tempted to jump in and get that documented group incl. order of lenin that I'd still like to add to my collection... am wondering, what are the "big" upcoming Soviet auctions?
- the new york sale http://www.russian-medals.net/
- wasn't medalhouse also organizing an auction soon?
- others?
Thanks
MedalHouse will have auction at March 31st, 2009 in Stuttgart, Germany.
We will have very nice selection of Soviet Union. Free digital catalog is on our web site WWW.MEDALHOUSE.COM, just click upcoming auctions -> fill your information and you'll get link to donwload the catalog. (33,2 Mb...). Printed version you can order from WWW.FINNMEDALS.NET
List of results should be online few days after the auction.

Dear Friends,
I have never seen these before. I wish somebody would be able to help me.
I have two badges:
1.) "Deutsch Japan tagung 1939", obviously Hitler Jugend badge. No maker mark. Very common pin back. Very high quality!
2.) "6. Deutsch Japan arad Tagung. St Christopham Arlberg Tirol" 1944. Maker marked and very high quality.
(So it seems that that was annual thing since the 1944 was sixth.)
I believe these might be original badges, but for what ? Just some "German - Japan brothers in arms thing"... but with HJ??? (It seems that that was annual thing since the 1944 was sixth.)
Though I believe as well these might be fakes since they seem to exists... I just did not manage to find picture...

Hello Friends,
It looks genuine, though definetly not typical issue. Official pin backs were the very first ones awarded - I believe this could have been awarded to German and the recipient has wanted it to be with pin, instead of screw.

Gentlemen,
despite the very moderate starting prices, Jani's two medals remained unsold at the Stuttgart-auction.
Best regards
Christian
I would be interested to know how to make sure medals are made by original manufacurer. I am aware that a lot of these were sold as unissued - even with quite low serial numbers and they dont particularily interest collectors (As seen in the auction) - this is the only type I have ever seen. I just would like to make sure two medals we had are made by original maker. Does anyone have a picture of actually awarded medal?

See http://www.medals.org.uk/finland/finland128.htm
Anyone know more about it?
Its cross given to Veterans of Finnish the Army in the in the 55th anniversary of the Finnish Military Forces. I think the ones received that in 1936 were the career (cadre) officers who were in Finnish Army in that year - and I guess officers who has got their officer training in Imperial Finnish Army (= Imperial Russian Army before 1917) also received these but there was not many left at that time.
Its quite complicated cross and among few others like this much undervalued these days.
I should re-check my references.

Effective buyer's price
Dear Jani,
many thanks for your pdf
.
Question about the final hammer prices: Is it the hammer price + 18 % buyers premium + 19 % (German) VAT in total
? So a item of EUR 1.000,- would cost EUR 1.404,20
?
Who exactly got the K-19-Ushi
? I guess, that the comrade in question played also a role in that great movie.
Best regards
Christian
I have asked my friend to tell more about K-19 Ushi.
Buyers premium is altogether approximately 21% (18+ German VAT). That is the same as most of the big auction houses use in Germany. Germany has actually two different VAT's - the other one is used in case the item will be declared out of the EU. All the details can be found from terms & conditions in the catalog.

Thanks for this, Jani.
Do note that the url is *.com not *.net.
Some NICE things there -- but I won't tell you what!
Its actually finnmedals.net - I have both .com and .net but catalog is on the latter one.

Dear Friends,
I have got new nice medal bars. I believe some of these could be tracked and wish any help.
If the number of possibly recipients could be limited to reasonable number of people I will be able to get list of Finnish 2nd class Crosses of Liberties awarded to Germans. I will gladly share my information if any has similar research going on.
I know some are impossible to track, but enjoy the pictures![;)](https://gmic.co.uk/uploads/default_wink.png)
