    1. Those four books you speak of are years out of date....and a lot of the images are not very clear....but......they were the first to cover 'tinnie's in great detail...

Overall, the four books probably feature approx 1600 examples of tinnies....the only plus side is that they have a few images not shown in the next two books that I will advise you really should buy...

"Tagungs- und Veranstaltungsabzeichen 1930 - 1945" by Reinhard Tieste ...the books are A4 sized, hardback, and feature 12,500 tinnies...

...if you do buy them, make sure you buy the most recent edition (2006) 5th Auflage...

...it will cost 80 Euros for both books...well worth it !

...here's a link to the Reinhard Tieste website. Scroll down and you will see the books I mentioned...

      Regards.

Thanks, looks very interesting. Please tell me one more thing. Are descriptions and prices also in the book and is the book only in german language?

    2. Yeah, Spomenica 1941 (russian type) price is growing and it's not that easy to find one. There are few every once in a while on the internet... it's the first one I found with the complete enemel in perfect condition and for a decent price in my country. One was for sale at emedals and I think there is also one more but not in so fine condition. Btw, the order is really beautiful, one of my favorite.

    3. Dear "Explorer",

sorry, but your images don't open - at least at my screen :( -

BTW: Do you have any other name, than "Explorer", which doesn't sound, as given by the priest ... ;) .

      Best regards

      Christian

Strange, I see the photos normally.

Here are the direct links to pics. Try it.

And yes, I do have a name. It's Nejc, would probably be Nathan or Nathaniel if I was American. :=)

    4. Hello Christian. Thanks for your reply.

It seems like a nice book but the problem is most of these Slovene partisan patches, decorations is really hard to get, almost impossible.

If you want to learn more about Slovenian partisans there is also another book "Slovenski partizan", written by Janez ?vajncer, probably the best expert for Slovene partisans and their equipment. He also has his own museum and he had also written a few other books. Two pics from his museum.

    5. I started with this hooby about two years ago when I got few partisan medals and orders from my grandmother and grandfather. I'm only 18 now and was really into this stuff since I was just a little boy. I first thought I will collect german stuff from 3rd reich but then I realized there is too much of everything and a collection would probably never be complete so I finally decided to study about Slovenian partisans, their equipment, weapons and decorations. I first bought a nice metal detector (I live a mile awayfrom the place where second world war ended), managed to get some really nice orders and few quite rare badges. I love this hobby and I'll put my best into it to know and collect as much as possible. :jumping:

    6. I'd like to add something to my previous question to Christian. I went to check in the book YUGOSLAVIA INSIGNIA AND DECORATIONS and there it says that the star you have in your collection (with hammer and stickle) was given to elite troops officers in yugoslav people's army and not during the WW2.

    7. The badge is ident to the one shown in post #1, BUT with an golden "hammer & sickle" in the middle of the red star. The badge had been the same to commissars and officers of the YU-Elite-Forces in WW II.

      Hello Christian!

I have a question for you. Was this hat badge given to officers after war in JNA also or just between WW2? What about the basic one, without the hammer & sickle?

      Thanks alot!

    8. The Winterhilfswerk (WHW) was a Nazi charity program with the slogan "None shall starve nor freeze". It was designed to provide food and fuel to indigent Germans, and of course it was an excellent propaganda opportunity.

The Hitlerjugend and Bund Deutscher M?del (boys' and girls' associations, respectively) were extremely active in collecting for this charity.

Donors were often given small souvenir gratitude gifts of negligible value, somewhat similar to the way modern charities mail out address labels and holiday cards. A typical such gift was a small propaganda booklet (a VERY small booklet, reminiscent of Victorian-era miniature books; about 0.8" wide x 1.5" tall). Observe the hole punched in the rear cover; this appears in most such books and was apparently designed to allow people to hang these booklets on a Christmas tree.

The book shown here contains 33 pages, almost all of which show Adolf Hitler with smiling citizens. Titles of the photos are such things as:

      Reichskanzlerei, 1937 (Reichs Chancellory, 1937)

Mit Arbeiter 1935 (With the Workers 1935)

      Autobahnarbeiter (Workers on the Autobahn)

      Alte B?uerin 1936 (Old Farmer's Wife 1936)

The end of the book has a short closing statement by Dr. Robert Ley.

More generous donors would receive concomitantly better gifts, such as lapel pins (often a single rune with WHW and the year printed around it), or a full-size photo book.

Does anyone of you own any WHW badge? Show them please. :)
