Tinnie KdF Gau K?ln Aachen.

I ?ve red in the book about the KdF of Baranovski ( Robert !) that these badges were given/sold when you took a tour with this local KdF .
I think the wavy line through the KdF- emblem below signifies the river Rine.
The crisp blue paint has come off for a part , many of these tinnies have this.

Nice tinnies Robert!! One can feel the romantic sphere of these little German cities.
Keep practicing the S?tterlin.

Robert, if I am correct you mean 4cm. I have two longshaped pins one a NSDAP pin , one a silver wolfsangel pin. ; both are just like yours 4cm.
From an estetic vieuw these longshaped pins ?.. on the tie .
Cheers,
Benten
p.s. I asked an elder German jeweller salesman today. He told me these pins were worn at the middle of the tie.

Benten You could very well be correct. Any possible ideas about how this would be worn? I wouldn't think this would be the correct attaching pin setup for the tie? Maybe on the lapel? I have no clue. Robert
I love this pin. I like the typical decorations of that time, Artd?co. I think it's jeweller?s made and for private use, as Don already mentioned. Men wore a longshaped pin or a longshaped clip pin below the middle of the tie, small ones a bit under the knot . I don?t know if men wore small private purchase pins on the lapel , like we do see for official Nazi pins. Even after the war some people wore tie pins to look distinguished .
What is it's size? Robert, I?ll see if I can get more info.
Cheers,
Benten

Robert the mark is put upside down ; I presume that the mark is 835. This is the silvermark that was used very often.

As some of you may remember, I was lucky enough last year & again earlier this year to pick up a couple of complete badge & pin collections.
Well it's happened again, 112 in total, some very rare pieces as well. Once I've sorted & scanned them all I'll post some more detailed images, & as before some of the more common ones will be looking for a new home. I apologies for the poor picture but I was desperate to get a shot before the sun went down.
Cheers
Don
Don, you are lucky indeed. Thanks for posting!!

2e Bezirkssportfest Starnberg 1936. Bezirk means district ; it is located in Bayern. Note the difference between the birds .The left one is the crest of Starnberg, the second the nazi-eagle of the well known Deutscher Reichsbund f?r Leibes?bungen, free translated German national league for gymnastics.

Don, the makersnames have a different form?.indeed you should expect on these badges that they are the same. I understand with you the unsure feeling

Robert and Don . After the KdF badge ?Gau M?nchen Oberbayern? , it is a good idea to bring up this KdF badge ?Gau K?ln- Aachen?. I like city- coat of arms, specially these in enamel of K?ln and Aachen. The 3 wavy lines in the middle could represent the rhine?
Here is my badge. Maker mark on the rear is Hoffst?tter - Bonn.

Gents Staying on the same page, here is my 8001d example. Its a funny thing though. I hadn't had this one out in a while and now it has some green oxidation/growth on the reverse. From the copper content? Any one else have one to show? Or maybe 8001a? I would love to add that one but have been unable to locate one. benten, you can get that book on Amazon. It is a little pricey but a valuable rescource for KdF. A pity shipping is so high or I would gladly loan it off to you. I have already read it thru twice. Any other good reference material on this organization? have a nice weekend. Robert
Robert , thank you very very much for your kind offer. I appreciate it. The book is indeed a bit pricey. I inquired already and can get this book from a library about some time.. Thanks anyway Robert.

Very nice badge with the Berlin bear, Robert.
I had not heard till now about the book of Shelley Baranowski about the KdF ; Consumerism and Mass Tourism in the Third Reich.
Thank you for bringing it to my attention.

Robert , I see you realy love these badges like I do.
Our badge has no date and /or event like almost all tinnies have. It is not a tinnie but more an insigna for the KdF Bertreuerinnen ( female-helpers) in Gau München Oberbayern.
In general , in the large KdF organization, only about 10% of all the KdF helpers got paid for their work. Most people worked Ehren-amtlich ( for free ). This was, among others (like all the membership contributions and WHW donations ) a good income for the NSDAP.

Robert, your KdF tinnie is in very good shape ; it has a nice patina and all the paint is there!! You wil not find a better one.
I like the technical detailed front of the locomotive, shown in the low frog perspective.
Just like yours, the back of my KdF tinnie is plane too, no marks
