Robert, this type of tinnie "Braunschweig 17/18 october 1931" is well known.
The second pattern here... it's RZM marked .....so,I think around 1934-35. This tinnie became a kind of NSDAP honor badge.
In 1931, Weimar republic, Braunschweig became a centre of a political struggle between Socialis/Communists and Nazis. Braunschweig had in fact a political Socialistic mayority. The Nazis got only influence by alliance with other parties. Besides that they mobilized 100.000 SA men!! from all over Germany to go to this city to show their power....."the battle" of Braunschweig....many wounded and a few people died .
Here my tinnie......

Robert, this nice tinnie shows the bronze griffon statue of Karlsruhe. It is located in front of the Grenadiersgeba?de ( Garrison building). This is a very old building with large ground surface around that was in military use , long before the Nazis used it in 1936 for their 109th infantry regiment. I'm still looking for a tinnie with this Griffon. There exist more tinnies a with different design .
Here a picture of the building and Griffonstatue.[attachmentid=58026]

I agree with Benten. A very nice badge and somewhat appropriate today. Correct me if I am wrong but are not the populations of most EU countries in decline? I happened to listen to Vladimir Putins' state of the nation speech over the Summer and his theme was the introduction of new benefits to encourage the Russian people to procreate in greater numbers with offerings of longer periods of time off payments for the Mother, increased benifits for each additional child added to the family, etc. He went as far as to ask Russian expatriates to return to Russia. Thanks for showing that nice tinnie James.
Yes Robert the stimulation now for larger families is perhaps not so explicite as in the Nazi time, but it is still current . As you said , increased benefits. However in China we see the opposite policy of real oppression. You are only allowed to have one child, or two childeren under certain circumstances.

The propaganda to encourage large families. On your tinnie the design of the extremely powerfull nazi eagle. The eagle suggests a kind of father (or the top of state), head of his large family. "Reichstreffen"; is important , because it is on the national (highest) level.
James a very nice example of propaganda.

Benten/Robert,
The DLV badge with the aeroplane is not a tinnie but a membership badge for the DLV, it's the type 3 pattern.
Cheers
Don
Thanks for your info , Robert and Don. I could not find any reference of this badge.

Joe, thanks for your kind words. I hope you will find tinnies to post here.
Robert , I have only a front picture of the postcard. I don't own it.
Your HJ tinnie 1923-1933 is very nice. It commemorates the Hitler Putsch in 1923. According the Axis forum there were no nazi youngsters ( Jungbund ) involved directly in the Putsch. The HJ as an institution was established later in 1926. The slogan on your tinnie is a very good example of nazi propaganda.
Here a nice link about the HJ history; http://www.axishistory.com/index.php?id=3001

Hi Robert,
Thank you for the complement.
Your tinnie is one of my favorite tinnies. I have never seen these with the diamond in enamel. Your tinnie is about the inauguration of "The Hein Godenwind". It was a HJ Youth hostel (HJ training vacation perhaps too)- sail ship.
You made a nice and symphathetic suggestion, Robert, but I like to post tinnies some times and I will feel free in doing this now and then I will post more tinnies here .
I am interested to see more of your tinnies, so we can see our tinnies here .
If I find it I post a picture of the Hein Godenwind sailship itselve later on.I looked for it now, but I have to search on.
Cheers,
Benten

Robert, these people are standing in this uneasy position since the 30-40ties; that?s a long time to keep smiling.
It?s a good idea to transfer this tinnie to the data base, so if someone can move it to there ?
Cheers,
Benten
