Hello Thierry.
found a "suspicious" possible.
See, it's very similar to the Medal of Ordenspange however, no record of it will have been awarded this medal. (Preussen Roter Adler Orden)Lambert

"And most likely not reached these 800 units to be distributed among ex-combatants, I made this same question to the curator also could not confirm if this model came to be assigned to military ... (Peron opinion) that the issue was just to meet the contract and satisfy the desire of its author, as a way to correct the error committed by the Portuguese State"
Anyway. The fact that few of us could get an example of such Awards, not yet. As the Victory Medal of Brazil type 1, type 1 Siam and Portuguese type 1.

Excelente!
800 medals, is actually a very limited number for that type 1 and little known almost as the number of Medals of Victory from Brazil (type 1) in which the amount is currently unknown...

Hello Rich
It is reciprocal.I learn every day with you and have some knowledge and share with much pleasure to all ...
From what I know, this medal is attributed only to veterans of WWI, I do not know if it is currently granted to veterans of other wars (WWII, Korea, indochine .. etc. ..)
Perhaps one of our French colleagues can enlighten us.Lambert

I recommend this book to those who want to start collecting the Victory Medal of the countries involved in the Great War. This is a book to have experienced collectors. Each chapter are specifications on the original and restrike and reproduction medals, the section on Victory Medal USA has a wonderful section that details all medals and reissues and closing corresponding to battle fought campaign. The author shows direct, information acquired during many years of research manner. CONGRATULATIONS! Receives my highest recommendations.

Wow !! Excellent Bill. I never saw a Repro by Delande before, very good indeed.
I see nothing wrong with her being polished (is my opinion), I think the previous owner was very proud of his medal .. I think it is a very old polished, because it still retains some of the original patina, it does not seem "new "you see?applause !!

Posted
On the centenary of the First World War, I organized a small exhibition about the Great War with a few pieces from my collection for students (children and adults), know little about it.
Here are a few photos from that day.
