    2. 2) A 7th Class early Meiji, complete with bow rosette.

The ribbon and rosette has faded, and there is some damage to the base of the case. But a lovely piece given the history attached to it, and a lucky ebay find.

      Great Order! excellent!

      congratulations

Great blog too by the way! Very interesting ODM, many of which I've never come across before so enjoyed learning about them.

      Hi Gavin

Thank you for visiting my blog,.

I'm interested mainly in Orders and Medals of World War I and also Brazil WWI and WWII.

I started collecting just nine months, so I have a lot to learn.

    4. Yes, small mint mark and I am guessing it is early 20th century from the overall design of the medal.

But I'm still expanding my knowledge base on these orders so I can't say that with any authority.

      Hello Gavin.

My (4th Class) is identical to yours.

    5. Unfortunately I have no way of knowing how many were because the medal was awarded to civilians in the war effort.

In the decree of 1944 the Medal of War was approved only for senior officials.

But it was also granted to American instructors (NCO), but not for the soldiers and sergeants Brazilians.

I will never understand this injustice. ..
