Durodont has been selling questionable ribbon bars as well as our "usual suspect"...... he has added a new twist! He's now showing the backs! You be the judge.

Finnish award for Superior Pretzel Baking"

In my opinion, no German made that badge prior to 1960......

Hi John, now that's a nice little group! Any photo of your man?

I'd also like to add that it's great to see so much activity in here!! Bring your friends!

Is it safe to assume with numbers that close that it was the same maker??

Domo Arigato Coastie-san!

I hate to throw water on this, but I have never seen a pre-1920 example of any pilot badge, from any country with that clutzy hinge/catch set-up. I don't like it at all. My 2-Cents, for what it's worth.

OK, simple enough to remove the WG Fire ribbon and move the '39 KVK over to the left one space.... The HARD part will be figuring out what the missing WW1 award is!!

Hi Darren, I would not ever classify myself as an "expert" on anything (maybe other than being annoying)..... I've had some experience with these awards, that's all. Right now I am still pounding my head against the monitor every time I think about this group, the crappy archive photos and all the answers that were probably here but are now long gone. I will sift my records and try and find the buyer to see if I can get copies of the documents via eMail.

Hi Chris, FANTASTIC woman's group... I can count on my hands the number of ladies' bows like this I've seen!

Hi Jens, I've had maybe a dozen of these awards on ribbon bars and that's it for the last 18 months or so.... compare that to almost a thousand EK's, W?rtt. Bravery Medals, Bavarian MVK's, etc.!

Hi Heiko! Interesting, can we see the back? I want to see if it matches Chris' bar. It has to be the same guy, I cannot imagine 2 different people mounting this weird!

Cripes, who's the owner of that one and did they post a back as well??

I've received over 4K with a net close to 3K, so it's not a feedback issue. Not sure what the problem was and too late for me to worry about it now. Oh well.

As an aside, did you folks see the incredible enameled pins/stick pins that Detlev offered last week as part of the Hansen Horde? The quality was astounding and there was even a group of US flag pins!!

This group was one of my earliest acquisitions and is long gone. If I had realized the significance of having this paperwork back then I never would have let it out of my sight!

Hi Darren, other than being able to tell he was awarded his badge on 10.4.1915, I can't glean much from my archive photos. My best guess is that the Bavarians seem to have been awarded the badge upon graduation. This group had a copy of his flight recorder for the solo....... it was interesting as he was actually given different "licenses" to fly different planes! Just for giggles, here he is after winning his EK2

Greetings Rendsburg...... No. They did make cloth/bullion EK's in both wars, but this one looks repro all the way. Also, when you see the "old newspaper" backing..... not a real good sign.

Hi Ed, will try to squeeze some time in over there soon.

Is it really a tab-back? Seems odd to have the swords and eagles all at different heights on that style of bar... the ones I've had are usually pre-drilled? Eagles are mis-matched too.

Yep, no lie. 9 times with the over $50 one......... just kept sending me back to "must fill in form"

That's because Santa loves Evil Ricky and knows he's (deep down) not all Evil.....

Yeah, good luck with this. I tried 9 times to redeem one of these codes. It will keep giving you a message stating: "To use a Coupon, you must click back twice and click on the Fill in Form button to verify the amounts of this transaction."
No matter how many times I filled in the stupid-ass form, I just kept getting this message.
