Heiko, it might be easier if you just tell us what bars you don't have!
;>)

Unfortunately, almost all of these pinbacks have been reproduced. And yes, there's alarming consistency as to who sells them. The best we can do is educate ourselves on a continuing basis!

Hi gals & guys, here's the back of some crosses from our new member sftrooper86... you can call him Vince and take a peek at some of these! Welcome!!

Rick was showing me a Red Banner that was converted from screw-post to suspension, but great efforts were done to make it as 'right" as possible. I think this type of stuff is pretty interesting. With Imperial Germany, the most one usually sees is the conversion of EK2's to EK'1s..... interesting for sure, but the variety of efforts I'm seeing in some of the threads in Soviet is much more complex!

Hi Guys, I do not remember seeing a "26" '14 EK1 but there's no mistaking the finish/quality/features as a "26" for sure! Neat!

Hi WildCard, how about starting a new thread with just Napoleonic era medals?

Only a couple pieces I will chase in this auction. Nice stuff though!

And that is the epitome of "thrift"..... you have to love the Olga Orden!

I think that's pretty interesting that he took it off the suspension but left the ring at the top. Malice aforethought perhaps? ;>)

Hi Paul, couldn't tell you why that is, but if memory serves they were "added" by the photographer when he was promoted. Ted could tell us for sure but I think he's in hiding at the moment!

Hopefully, a fine Single Malt. The real heartbreaker here is that many of those medals have the documents.... if you're goiung to go for the bar, I'd try for the whole shooting match and keep things with the documents!

Concur with Heiko, nothing wrong with those 2 bars.

Nice bar Heiko! Very, very nice!

I think w. Bronze swords we're probably looking at VOR2wX, AOR2wX... if they were gilt, I'd be tempted to say 1. Kl. but a 3. or 4. Kl. HK of the RHO would lend against that.....

And the "Romanian Front Fighter of the week bar", as usual:

Hi Darren, the usual scenario was one graduated from the school, accumulated hours/flights and was then awarded the PB/OB, etc. Unfortunately, after all these years I cannot point to any one instance of a written qualification and/or statutes for Imperial Flight Badges. I suspect that somewhere, buried in a General Orders type document the answer may lie.

yeah, the condition is not the greatest but it has been at least 5 years since I saw a large gilt wreath on a bar to denote the W?rttemberg Gold Bravery Medal. Sometimes rarity has to precede condition.

Coming to a sales thread soon.........

Greetings WildCard! Well, I've seen bars as early as 1866, and only once for 1848....... but never one this early! Fantastic!

Greetings Rosenberg, The actual name in German is:
Verdienstkreuz f?r Kriegshilfe
Awarded 1916-1924
Loosly translated to Prussian War Aid Cross in english
The miniature is very nice.

This bar belongs to one of our members and I will let him decide to speak up, or not. To my eyes, this bar is right as rain, but very perplexing. The Saxon War Merit Cross was a peculiar decoration. It was given if you held no other Saxon war-time award for WW1, but was to be returned upon receipt of a war-time WW1 award.. Since the piece is mounted and there are multiple war awards on the bar, who can explain this riddle?? Thanks!!

1813 EK2 grouping.
in Germany: All Eras: The Iron Cross

Well, I've never had to do this to an EK, but I've used WD-40 with excellent results. It cleans, drives the moisture out and keeps it out, penetrates (so would probably even get in behind the frame) and will darken/protect the iron. Of course the cross will now stink like chemical....
