Hi Ralph, pretty darn good. I used to scratch-build in HO scale but now the eyes are just not up to the task anymore.
Just for fun, for you non-modeling types.... did you know that in HO scale you have exact scale replicas of almost every pipe/fitting known to man-kind?? Yep from 1" right on up! All to scale!

Hi Ed (& Company)..... pretty fascinating discourse! I've learned more than (which was zip!) I knew just by reading this thread! Fascinating

Is there no glow to thos threads Paul? Kinda sucks that we now have to deal with the inquisition on these things.

Heiko, are those fakes you are showing with flat prongs??

Nice Bar Joe, I like Brunswick!

Super bar Jason, one to be proud of for sure! And yes, you don't see a lot of frack bars pop up with the FJORK mounted on them!

No, all I have is the archived photos. There is one additional pix of the packet that I will check tonight.

Great bar and I missed the end of this auction or I would have been trying for it too. The interesting thing is he actually sold it earlier this month (??) In any event, the second time this same bar appeared in Germany! Nice coup!

Hi Jason, show us all of them together!!

Just wanted to pop this one back up as the bars posted by Bob & John represent a "non-traditional", but often encountered style. When you find one of these, they're a little odd looking, but in most cases, quite real! Nice stuff!!

Looks like a quite right, stone-cold mint 25-Year Polizei LS Cross to me. Oh so nice with the embroidered eagle on that ribbon!

My gut is telling me this bar will prove to be quite allright... An Austrian "other ranks" who went into the SS very early and received his 8-year LS Medal before things were really cranked up for WW2.

And a big Thank You to RR for adding his take on this little gem!

Oh yeah.... can we see the back as well?

Saxon Merit Order with Swords (probably 2. klasse)
Saxon Honor Cross, or Saxon Long Service (tough call with this pix)
1914 EK2
Lippe Cross for War Merit with incorrect swords attached
(Possibly a Lippe Order with swords on war ribbon??)
Red Eagle (?) Possibly Hamburg Hanseatic?
Honor Cross, no Swords
Centennial Medal
Lippe House Order, Peacetime/Statute ribbon
Ca. WW1 with the 2 Saxon awards taking precedence. So you have Saxon with a Lippe connection somewhere!
Nice Bar!!!!

I think Dave Danner will be pretty thrilled too. He's a big Baden buff!

Do it Marcus! It would be a boon to fledgling collectors everywhere!!
Good Luck!

Entirely possible combinations and look quite right to me! I see a lot of this still... I've had guys contact me with boxes of smaller (4-place and less) bars that were all made up, never sold/distributed and found stuffed in a box on a shelf, in a basement whatever. Usually from Tailor shops, not from the medal retailer themselves!
By boxes, I mean literally boxes. The last nice lot I saw was 50+ pieces, 3-piece WW2, stone-cold mint!

Nice work Marcus! Thanks for helping to define the issue and resolve it!

Does anybody know what the story with these pieces is? There's been a veritable plethora of these crosses that have appeared on the market in the last few months. Was there some type of "find"? Or what?

Green case
in Spain
Definately a bogus case..... nicely done, but brand-spanking new. But, as previously stated, great to keep a loose Spanish Cross in Silver in!

Nice bar Claudio, which auction? That's only the second enameled Baden LS Bar I've seen!!

And here's what would be correct for the ribbon.

Well, that is actually probably true to a point. There's so many variations of ribbons on the veteran's pieces that I never even considered that. The Ehren-Legion medal is cheap and easy to find, so no trouble to restore the bar. Regarding the presence of both a Veteran's Medal and the FEK.... There was a period between institution of the FEK and banning of all other "unofficial" veteran's pieces where they were mounted together. It was this specific reason that these other pieces were banned. It was not however a simultaneous enactment and you will find literally hundreds of examples of Veteran's Crosses mounted with the Honor Cross.

The thing I can't figure out is the stitching pattern. Looks like 2 different people stitched the top and bottom!
