I would have to agree with Vince here

The Red Eagle was shown in my Traveling Circus Thread, there was some discussion there about the Kaiser’s ODM.

With all due respects, I will disagree with these sources

That does seem like a really odd combination of awards!

A tough piece to find, too bad you don’t have the suspension loop and ribbon, but still a nice example

Crown Order 2 relisted with a BIN of $1900, Red Eagle 4 relisted with a BIN of $610

People are simply crazy! The fake 1813 EK1 is currently up to $1630 and the fake PLM is up to $1195! I just don’t understand this nonsense. These pieces are clearly copies!

It was also awarded for military merit.
Good Morning Bernd, I’m going to have to disagree with you on this, the St. Henry was a bravery award only. Military Merit was awarded the Albert Order or Merit Order without swords. Unless you can show me in the statutes otherwise.

Kind of a watered down award criteria given it was originally given for extreme bravery in war.

Final Bids on these copies:
”1870 EK1”: $754!
”1870 EK2” $937!
people are going to be seriously disappointed when they find out these were copies!! I don’t understand how you can even “collect “ without doing any research on your subject. It seems that there’s an awful lot of money changing hands here. The seller of these items has a never ending supply of them and that alone should have been a huge red flag for the buyers!

The price on the KO2 is in the ballpark, but what happened to the inside of the case lid?
I think that’s the ribbon

The BMVM case is quite rare. I’ve only had one over the years, it was in an extensive group to a Bavarian baker I bought from Detlev years ago. It was a pretty nice group, everything was cased, documents and a huge stein from the Bavarian Baking Association. Since I’ve lost my photo archives I can’t share any images. If I remember correctly I paid about $1800 for the group. The Bravery Medal was silver and in excellent condition.
A little unusual that two empty cases would show up in such short order, hope that they are not being faked now!!
