    1. and the back of this Wehrmacht metal insignia. Any ideas on its originality or purpose?
    2. And here we have some sort of Heer army eagle. It is 40 mm tall and has decent detail. Was this an awarded piece, an insignia, or a fantasy piece? I don't see any of these anywhere so any advice is very welcome. Thanks, Pat
    3. the back, any opinions on this eagle or the other posted items above?
    4. Here is what I believe to be a metal Heer chest eagle. It might be a cap eagle but it seems too large (94 mm wingspan). Is this an original piece? Does anybody else have one to show? I really haven't found much on this item and any help is great. Thanks, Pat
    5. Sure thing Paul! Here are pics of the whole ribbon, and it does appear it had the Prague Castle bar at some time. Shame its not still there. Pat
    6. Thanks Laurence, I too have had doubts on the KVK1, the detail on the little beading is not the same as the others, but if anyone can prove us wrong that would be great. Any ideas on the others? Pat
    7. and finally the back of my KVM. A nice original in my view, but any opinions are always welcome. It always feels good to know for sure. Thanks, Pat
    8. Here is my KVM kriegsverdienstmedaille with a really long ribbon (10 inches or so). This was my first ever piece and I am 99% sure it is original, but any confirmation would be great. This is a nice medal in good condition besides the slight disclouration on the back.
    9. the back of this zinker. Note the bizarre pin set-up. Has anyone seen on like this before? Pat
    10. Now for the mystery piece, my KVK1 with swords. It looks like its made of zink and has good detail and is made of a solid metal and no casting lines. The big question I have is about the back. The pin/catch assembly seems to be upside-down. Now this is either a wacky fake or a strange variant. All info and advice on this one is escpecially appreciated. Pat
    11. And now my KVK2 without swords. It appears to be a later version cross with a non-glowing ribbon. I am not sure on this one because late-war items are always hard to tell, but I know the ribbon that came with it is original. Please leave any advice or opinions on this KVK2 no swords. Thanks again, Pat
    12. Hello gentlemen (and ladies), I have a few various KVKs for show and opinion. I have my ideas on every one and an help on the kriegsverdienskreuz is welcome. I will start with my KVK2 with swords. It has good detail and I believe this to be an early tombak die-stamped version. The ribbon does not glow and the cross seems to be original. Any thoughts on maker and originality are very helpful. Also, post yours that are the same model. Thanks, Pat
    13. Another of my favourites, the Canadian Armoured Corps cap badge. This one only has a little bit of the silver finish left. Is this a WW1 badge or ww2? Is there any way to tell? Any advice on this is great and will be very helpful. Pat
    14. Hi gents, I have quite a few Canadian and Commonwealth cap badges and metal insignia that I will be posting on this post for your opinions. Any ideas as to dates of badges (all are King's crown) and info on the specific regiments are welcome. Here is my favourite, my home provinces own Rocky Mountain Rangers. I love the ram on the badge and I had an opportunity to buy the silver version, but I missed out by a week! Oh well, here is my copper version.
    15. Apparently Eicke was an SS commander and somewhat responsible for some concentration camps in ww2. How many of this specific order were approximately produced, as it is a specific regiment?
    16. Hello Gents, And thanks for the information and pics. I hope this area of collecting continues to gain recognition as it is a fascinating niche to pursue. I fall into the category of being a fan of such veteran medals and I am happy to have such medals. I really enjoy the fact that they were for specific regiments and have a real history behind them. Does anybody else have one of these crosses or something similar to share? Maybe the Bavarian 21st Regiment? I have done a little research and discovered that a man named Thoedore Eicke (a higher up in the SS) was a member of this regiment. Any more info on this is welcome. Pat
    17. I thought i was a better man, but I am jealous. I hope to see more complete groupings like this, and they tell the whole story so well. Again, kudos on a great find, and to see documentation like this with the hardware is something else... Pat
    18. Also, there are no blacklight glowing fabrics or threads on this eagle. I think it is good based on the fact the other items in the lot were good, but anybody that knows fabric with some help is welcome to leave and opinion. Thanks, Pat
    19. I hope this wasn't too confusing, but I think I got it straightened out. Can anybody else give me an opinion on the originality and the likelihood of them being a matching set (after I sorted it out, check the earlier posts). Any help on this matter is greatly appreciated. Cheers, Pat
