    1. Mr. Unland I appreciate seeing all the different examples. Thank you! --dj--Joe
    2. Interesting items Don. A first time see for me. --dj--Joe
    3. [attachmentid=42251] Thank you, Don. Thanks to Don, I now know that this pin is associated with an Austrian organization, Verband "Deutsche Wehr". --dj--Joe
    4. [attachmentid=40840] Sangerbund. Not positive of the time period on this one, appears quite old. I would guess pre 40's. reverse is unmarked. --dj--Joe
    5. [attachmentid=40052] Thought I would show three minis that never appear to have seen use. I plan to pin them into the display singly. --dj--Joe
    6. Peter, Robert, Thank you both for the information. Husken's book is on my "intend to get" list. Regards, --dj--Joe
    7. [attachmentid=39706][attachmentid=39707] I know this is DRL/NSRL associated, but not having a reference book that shows it, the correct title eludes me. --dj--Joe
    8. Greetings, and thank you for your in depth reply. I have not seen the original, if it is indeed original, a friend informed me of this configuration. My circumstance is this, I have accumulated a number of incomplete chains and loose awards. I do not have the funds for complete sets. I decided to mount the chains in a display and to avoid the stigma of duplicity, I will pin the miniature medals in place below the chain thus avoiding wrestling with my conscience, and leaving behind a false legacy when I pass on. I am aiming at common resonable configurations so assume it would be more resonable to place the order as, silver Saxon FAM, 1914 EKII and the enameled Austrian merit cross. Hope this is not a waste of your time and knowledge. Regards, --dj--Joe
    9. Don, thank you. I will gladly share images from my collection. Most of the stick pins I have are already well represented here. There are a couple I can post. regards, --dj--Joe
    10. Thanks for the welcome. The enameled military merit cross is the one in question. --dj--Joe
    11. Gentlemen, I have tried to do my home work, but still have a novice question. Would the combination of a 1914 EKII, a silver Saxon FAM and an Austro-Hungarian military merit cross 3rd. class be feasible on a miniature chain? I have enjoyed and learned much from the images and comments presented on this forum. Thank you all! --dj--Joe
    12. [attachmentid=39600][attachmentid=39601] Greetings Gentlemen, I have throughly enjoyed this thread and wish to share an item from my small collection. Not positive as to the organization represented. (Early Luftfahrt members pin). Lapel button reverse. --dj--Joe
