Is there any background on the hollow back brooches? I saw an example for sale but have misplaced the site for the moment.
I note they are painted and not enameled. Late war possibly? Are they an alloy base metal? (Located the site, I can't make out the base metal from the images).
They are interesting. Do they show up in period catalogs?

Do you feel Roberts Meisterzeichen badge may have been a day badge (tinnie) for the event?

Is it known if Steinhaur & Luck was the only manufacturer that produced a miniature?

Hi Robert,
I must apologize for not having noticed the flash washed out the reverse image. It is in reality gold finish like the obverse. My obverse image doesn't show the true brilliance of the gilt.
I've got to work on my photography skills.
May start using B&W with written descriptions.

A very nice badge Don.
I have been looking through my files as I thought I had some images saved but it was a 1st type and unnumbered.
Still seems as though I should have some images saved somewhere.
Will keep my eyes open.

Don, you will always have my full support. I'm standing by to post to the lost sections of the Enamel & membership badge manufacturers database.
This P.O. & enamel badges forum is top notch due to your knowledge, enthusiasm and efforts.
Wish I had more to share. I will gladly share what I do have.

I would say it's original. Is it a hollow back or a solid back piece?

Not sure this will help, Jakob Grimminger, Schwäbisch Gmünd used a six pointed star for a maker mark. Drawings I have seen showed a "G" in the center of the star. Have seen the star mark before but do not recall on what.
It might give you a lead to investigate though.

Thank you kind sir. I thought I'd read 1959 somewhere but was not positive. Good to know.

Hi Bill, thanks for adding your example. Always good to be able to compare pieces. It's nice to be of some help.

I am not sure of the period for this piece. 1914-1925 or modern possibly.
It is for a Dachshund club. With no date I'll have to find out when the Hannover club was formed.
Either way, what is Hindenburg wearing? I have seen busts and pictures with a wide assortment of neck awards, singles, multiples. Can't pin it down. (Or is it artistic license)?

Thanks for looking and any thoughts.

Meister schießen, (master shoot).
As opposed to,
Meisterzeichen, (masters mark), (masters sign),(makers mark).
Perhaps this piece is in reference to the logo of the Ibex on the round target with swas. and the oakleaves and acorns.
