A picture of a bar with the two commemorative medals must be welcome, I suppose??
Kind regards,
Jacky
the source of this picture is looking for a MWO to complete his bar.
There is also a gold merit cross of the House order.

I meant the bar...

That's exact what I mean with damaging the morale,
it's not only the military but also the civil side of this "happening"
They should just have kept their mouths SHUT.
But now, they have talked, too much then good was for them!
And now selling their stories, although promising that the money will be divided amongst the needed,
doesn't do any good to them, the defence and the whole debacle.
It's just crap.

A clearer picture of this man was found there also:
There one can clearly see that some of his nazi-decorations aren't denazified!

Well, it might also be for their good....
Their stories have damaged morale, but also retaking their words now doesn't heal it.
Just ban them from telling their stories untill all is clear will help an awfull lot!
Kind regards,
Jacky

some call it repro (especially those who want to sell them)
other call them fake, sh*t, crap, dirt what ever

Thus his own bar would already have sung of a long service,
but now he's a mere christmas tree who whines about having been awareded too few medals..???
A rough estimate would be that about 60% of his bar is from veteran organisations (bought or not).
Kind regards,
Jacky

I believe that they are estonian
as all of them are wearing the estonian order of the cross of the eagle.
For naming the other medals, except the flak abzeichen, iron cross 1st class and the officers cross of the princely house order of hohenzollern
black wound badge, I would like to have a close up.
But the first stap isn't that they are latvian, but estonian.
Kind regards,
Jacky

A good website about this subject is www.onderscheidingen.nl from forummember Erik Muller,
See:
http://onderscheidingen.nl/nl/medailles/konhuis/konhuis.html
Indeed, that's a very good site,
I picked my data from a file on my computer.
I was little suprised to find out that this site mentions for most medals their numbers, which I didn't know.
The more modern ones aren't mentioned.
Kind regards,
Jacky

This one has another ribbon than the above mentioned one....
Any explanation?? (wartime vs peace-time ribbon??)
But both are very nice to see, I don't really like the enamelled ones.
Kind regards,
Jacky

Yes, I'm inclined too...
It looks very modern on the reverse, the fabric is quite smoot and has a fine stitch...
Thus it looks very repro to me.

There are a lot of faked/repro tinselstars....
It looks repro to me, but the backs tells a hell of a lot!
Thus... Is there a picture of the back?
Kind regards,
Jacky

But I'm wondering about why he didn't get any houseorder medal....
Nowadays, since 1969, the order of loyalty and merit/service is awarded in two grades for 25 and 40 years of service.
But then, they must have had something else to get from the royal house....
perhaps, Eric could learn us more about now and then within the house-order.........???
Kind regards,
Jacky

This bar had been discussed on this site, to great length and a lot of theories also.
I can't find the link immediately, but I loved this bar and the discussions!

Jacky

I have a quick note on this one.
It wasn't Wilhelmina who created this order, but her mother, Queen-Regnant Emma.
After the order of the Oaken crown fell in disuse, as it became an order of luxemburg. Emma knew that a "commoner"-order was needed and
created the order of Orange-Nassau in name of her minor-aged daughter.
From the governmental site:
"In 1841, as Grand Duke of Luxembourg, King Willem II created the Order of the Oak Crown. Although this was not a Dutch order, honours in the Order of the Oak Crown were regularly conferred on Dutch people and foreign diplomats. After the death of King Willem III in 1891, Luxembourg became an independent state. Since then, honours in the Order of the Oak Crown can no longer be awarded by the Dutch head of state.
There was an obvious need for a new, third Dutch order, in particular to be able to confer a royal honour on foreign diplomats, but also to be able to give people from lower classes and ranks a royal pat on the back. On 4 April 1892, at the time when Queen Emma was Regent of the Kingdom, the Order of Orange-Nassau was created."

To me, it shouts something like a lippisch court-servant....
As I find the houseorder of Orange mostly on medal-bars/frackenspangen of foreign courtservants.
Concerning the bronze merit medal of the houseorder of orange, the royal household has it's own library with receipments, but whether they will help you with your inquiry, that's something I wouldn't put my money on it!
My knowledge about identification stops there, sorry.

Nice Collection!
Do you have also the other grades?
The commander, officer, knight and the more modern Member-grade?
And also the medals affilated with the order, in bronze, silver and gold?
anyway, I like your collection!
Kind regards,
Jacky

Oh A dutch red cross medal, well it looks almost the same as the belgian medal.
And I know only the belgian medal, which are still awarded now, if I'm correct.
But thanks for correcting me.

I even see a belgian blooddonation medal!
But could you tell us where and how you obtained this medalgroup??
Surely since it's so complete with both the medals as well as the certificates.
Kind regards,
Jacky

Nice cross, Hauptman!
Still a version from the age of Victor Emanuel.
But this is indeed very green, while the other is faded blue...
I don't think that the paint in such a relatively short time could go from green to blue-ish....
But it might still be possible, then the crown could denote some extra years or a mention of bravery what ever.
Kind regards,
Jacky
