I think they are boot 'tighteners' to stop their feet slipping inside the boot. You see them a lot in Infantry soldier photos especially 1914-15 maybe not.

Maybe they went to the left after gunners put it on the left of stahlhelme.
Don I got something neat a couple of weeks ago MGSs related I'll take pics this weekend.

Chinstrap is a copy, Chris I'm not an expert they did make a one press piece (see kraus) but this one has separate stitched on visors? It's funky, I wouldn't buy it without asking Karel first. btw those circular ink stamps are faked, I have one on my Haube copy from over 30yrs ago.

At a guess I'd say it's for mounted troops, I've seen those double buckle jobs before but can't remember for what. I once had a German Africa tunic and trousers but could never find the rest of the gear to build up a mannequin, so let it go. It's a tough collecting area imo. I love the belts shown, they are in wonderful condition.

I think that top front button pattern is post W1 on the first garment. Commercial, used a lot by the Germans and English. Chris is that the remains of a hood? reminds me of the pre'1900? German mantel.
I like it send to me

Nice field 'shop' camo Chris does it have a steel band liner?

The Waffen, as said is junk, the liner isn't even German. You used to be able to check decals with a uv light, some new collectors may not know gents. Stig the initial German/ Chinese contract for a supply of M35's is well documented and their use post W2 on the net.
