I've never seen a back plate before interesting they usually flopped the whole thing over their backs. Adler has a beautiful collection maybe he'll grace us with its presence.

Yes
Here's an early Bavarian frog its been well used it may even fit an 98/02 but shows the 'V' front at least they had a close to edge crease mark.. Belgium had one also but it widens at the shoulders then tapers, I noticed the v cut on this frog some Germans did that so a soldier could pull out the bayonet & scabbard, if you wear a bayonet and sit... get up lay down get up and take off a lot you'll know what I mean.
If I'm wrong hope to be corrected its old news maybe some more info is available now I don't have my bav. frogs anymore to show sorry.

There was one on ebay for weeks but the dude wanted too much for the 98/05 bayo I was in two minds to buy it and resell the bayonet. This is an example why it can become confusing a run of the mill frog with Bavarian issue stamp 1916, fine very nice but it wasn't Bav. made. Pics courtesy of the BCN.
Where's me chum Chip

Just joined the Luger club its not mint like the others shown here but the price was very reasonable for me, a 1911 Erfurt pics are the sellers a lot better than I could take anyway should arrive this weekend. I have a 1911 dated MG marked holster and a better mag waiting for it, been checking u-tube on how to take these things apart lol!

I had to look up the def. of incredulous the little blighter didn't have to press a button lol! I read a little the other night most went in one eyeball and out the other but they still use something similar with trained birds in those wide life programs etc. Anyway it was dropped by the Germans post W1 because of the advance of air power.

Thats correct the Bavarian facing has a 'necktie' look on the 98/05 frog some with straight sides not sure on the smaller 84/98.

These little panoramic cameras are probably rare used by the Germans at Verdun and The Somme, a breast-mounted pneumatically delayed timer camera with a swing lens strapped to a Hun pigeon to spy on Allied lines the kiosk on the back of the wagon is a little darkroom lab.
The inventor was Julius Neubronner the CIA later developed a model that to this day remains classified.

Joe that's pretty cool I look at these as the classic W1 carrier as the regular grunts entered the war. I think there was also a cavalry pattern of this single loop without the ring.... Chip?
