Don't dig the only reason I love the badge so much is because it shows the gun.

Very nice indeed.
Does it still smell of sweat? I am constantly astounded how long the smell of sweat stays in old unfiroms...
No it has those orphea cards in the pockets actually I kind of like the smell and they're supposed to keep insects away..profumo Italiano

Hmmmm... got one buried somewhere-- came in a Zeltbahn pouched with the multi-part stakes (lonnnng gone) and with the Vizefeldwebel's name on the pouch. Aaargh. Will post badge when found-- as I remember, had a double thick layer of backing.
In this Internet Age (when catalogs no longer serve as reference records) what's your average any-old GO for, these days? I bought mine for probably $10 the whole kit, back in Nixon era....
Rick
I'll give you $20 for it sight unseen 100% profit there ya go.

Hello
First off I like the fact it appears not to be buffed up when you say numbered do you mean unit marked makes a difference for example if you say Garde Pioneer Chris Boz will probably swallow his computer.

Hi
Does anyone have a period picture of the Rucksack these soldiers wore preferably Bavarian I'm also translating the Kraus book bit by bit. There are so many variants of that 'style' always found it confusing the Kraus diagrams don't help most look to be done in freehand.
Anyone?
Regards
Eric

Hello
At first I thought the soldier on the right was Felix Graf von Bothmer after google it isn't picture looks to be taken at an informal affair the trousers look dark gray to me? This site is good for Generals but there is a fee.

Interesting that both Demags are from Saxon units. So, are the markings telling us that these are government issue? I had thought that these were private purchase pieces.
Chip
That's new to me Chip always thought they were gov.issue the knives without the proof you could buy from the corner shop and send to your hubby soldier do you have more info?
There was two issues the early jobs have the full Deutsche Maschinenfabrik and D.R.G.M. stamps [Hughes]
