1878 Treaty of Berlin, 1895 May Reform Plan were European powers attempts addressed to the Ottoman Empire on reforms,, nothing happened instead in 1896 they went on the first 'modern' extermination campaign slaughtering tens of thousands.

On February 8 1914, the signing of the third and last international agreement (including the Ottoman Government) did nothing in effect Turkish leaders vowed to exterminate all Armenians in Asia-Minor.

During the war they pretty much sealed off the country and murdered over 1.5 million people no-one knows the exact number.

Les seeing your into Austrian may I ask why people refer to the helmet as m16? as a kid and up to moving to the US we always called them Austrian M17. I mean't to ask you last weekend but forgot, btw I had a great time as usual.

Chip prices have moved on since the '70's lol! some of those early fabricated jobs incorporating the tins are scare a jewel is ones made from wood, I've never owned one, merely fainted when I saw the price tag!

Good points Les the raw edge interior sewing is like my 1917 dated example which unfortunately I no longer have. Ones made from cotton appear to be cut in one piece folded and stitched simple, like many haube covers.

What do you know about old weave machines lol! you know I don't care people will either like or not what I have I promise to take more pics this week, including a couple of 100% copies I kept.

Have you checked images from the '14 Christmas Truce, its difficult but something may turn up. I've a picture but not 100% sure (IWM) Blimey lately I'm spending more time with me camera than drinking!!! I feel like a David Bailey.
