    1. Those are the popular "Velodog type" guns. Dozens of even hundreds of types of these were made by many facories. Small pocket guns, I think the original idea was defense against dogs and etc. Small pocket toy. I think these were sold even at fairs.

This is not a Vele-Dog it is really classified as a pocket bulldog... most Vele or Velo-Dogs do have enclosed hammers and also folding triggers. The principal feature distinguishing Velo-Dogs from other revolver types is its elongated cylinder, chambered either for the slender 5.5mm center-fire Velo-Dog cartridges (sometimes known as '5.75mm') or a similar 6mm rimfire 'Type Francaise'. This gun, the Arminius Model 10 chambers a 7.65mm auto round same as a Walther PPK or Colt Pocket hammerless.

    2. Thank you for sharing. Was this an official side arm of a military or police?

I got a great idea! Since this is a discussion forum and frankly I am not sure of the military usage for a gun like this, if any. Let me describe it ?best I can? and open it to debate as to its possible usage. This revolver is well made, is hammerless, fires a round comparable to a Walther PPK, and is SMALLER than the PPK. Does this description suggest anything to anyone? One more point; it would have been less expensive than the Walther PPK!

      Lets hear from someone!

    3. Jokka and Paul

It is an Arminius model 10; by Friedrich Pickert, Zella St Blasii (till 1919) and then Zella-Mehlis. it is a 7.65 mm auto; pocket mammerless five shot revolver.

      Thank's for asking.

    4. Is it suppose to lead somewhere? I thought this is a site where we share common interests, I am just sharing photos of what I feel is nice gun with others that are suppose to be into them. My point was for those who live where guns are mandated to be de-activated and the shame it is. Nothing Personal!

    5. Lucky for me I am in the USA and am able to own this beautiful gun in it's original splendor! Who among us would want to de-activate this beauty?

Enjoy the pics and don't forget to comment.

      More guns to come!

    6. I does not have Russian refinish, it's more like a well worn original finish with a very certain area by the barrell on the frame right side where obvious grinding took place (they left that raw). Another point of interest it fires beautifully. But what of the V stamped before the serial number any thoughts on this. Also shouldnt there be some other proof I can't find any.

    7. Let me try to clarify what I was trying to get at. I own a cyq P38 it is extremely rough in its finish. I own a Walther PPK, it is smooth, shiny and a deep blue black in its finish. The gun that we are discussing is very much like that PPK. I think the comparison I just made between the two guns was lacking in this discussion and made it seem different than I actually meant. This P38 is in its finish like a Walther should be, smooth and shiny with a dark finish very much resembling my PPK.

P.S. The PPK is an original gun untouched.

I should mention here that the Walther banner or manu. mark cyq is the only mark missing every other proof mark and serial # is present and I can see on wear of any kind on all maeks. They look as they should.
